Cookie Policy
Last updated . Applies to calculateinterestpay.com. US law and en-US.
In plain English
- Essential storage keeps your theme, accessibility, consent and recent-search settings in your own browser and is never sent to us.
- Analytics and advertising stay off unless you allow them, and neither is running today.
- There is no cross-site tracking on our site.
- You can change your choices at any time with the Change cookie settings button on this page.
- We honor Global Privacy Control signals by applying the essential-only setting.
What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies, such as browser local storage, that calculateinterestpay.com uses, what each one does, how long it lasts and how you can control it. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar feature that lets a website save small pieces of information on your device. Unlike cookies, the local storage items we use are never sent to our servers.
Change your choices
You can review or change your cookie choices at any time. Your choice is saved in your browser and applies right away.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out and apply the “essential only” setting automatically.
Cookie categories
| Category | Default | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Always on | Storage the site needs to remember your settings and choices, and spam protection on the contact page |
| Analytics | Off until you allow it | Google Analytics 4, used to understand overall site usage. It loads only after you allow it and only if the site has analytics configured. Analytics is not configured today, so nothing loads. |
| Advertising | Off until you allow it | Ads are currently switched off. If ads are enabled in future, they load only after you allow Advertising, and this page will list the ad network first. |
We do not use cross-site tracking today.
Every cookie and storage item
| Name | Category | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| cip-theme | Essential | Local storage | CalculateInterestPay | Remembers your light, dark or system theme | Until you clear it |
| cip-palette | Essential | Local storage | CalculateInterestPay | Remembers your color palette choice | Until you clear it |
| cip-a11y | Essential | Local storage | CalculateInterestPay | Remembers your text size, contrast, motion and link-highlighting preferences | Until you clear it |
| cip-consent | Essential | Local storage | CalculateInterestPay | Remembers your cookie choices and the date you made them | Until you clear it |
| cip-recent | Essential | Local storage | CalculateInterestPay | Remembers your last searches in the site search | Until you clear it |
| Calculator frame storage | Essential | Browser storage on our app domain | Our calculator service provider | Keeps what you typed into a calculator so your inputs survive a reload; not sent to us | Until you clear it |
| Cloudflare Turnstile token | Essential | Cookie or token | Cloudflare | Checks that a contact form submission comes from a person, not a bot; contact page only | Short-lived, for the security check |
_ga | Analytics | Cookie | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors to measure overall usage. Not set today. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<id> | Analytics | Cookie | Google Analytics | Keeps session state for measurement. Not set today. | Up to 2 years |
The cip- items are stored in your browser’s local storage and are never sent to us. If we add advertising in future, we will add the ad network and its cookies to this table before any ad loads.
Server logs
When your browser requests a page, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security. These logs are not cookies and are not used to track you across websites. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Clearing or blocking cookies and storage
You can also control cookies and local storage in your browser settings:
- Clear site data for calculateinterestpay.com to remove all cip- items and any cookies. Your theme, accessibility, consent and recent-search settings will reset, and you will be asked for your cookie choices again.
- Clear site data for our app domain to remove calculator inputs saved by the calculator frame.
- Block cookies in your browser. The site will still work, but your settings may not be remembered and the contact form’s spam check may fail.
Look for “Privacy,” “Cookies” or “Site data” in your browser’s settings menu.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page, including the table above, before we add any new cookie or storage item, and we will change the “updated” date at the top. If we add a new optional category or ad network, we will ask for your consent again where needed.

Questions about this policy
What cookies does CalculateInterestPay set right now?
Only essential ones. Your settings are kept in browser local storage, and the contact page may use a necessary Cloudflare Turnstile security token. No analytics or advertising cookies are set today.
How do I change my cookie choices?
Select the Change cookie settings button on this page, choose the categories you want and save. Your new choice applies right away.
Can I turn off essential storage?
Not through our settings, because the site needs it to remember your choices. You can clear or block it in your browser, but your theme, accessibility and consent settings will then reset.
Do you use Google Analytics cookies?
Not currently. Analytics is not configured, so no _ga cookies are set. If it is ever turned on, those cookies are set only after you allow the Analytics category.
What happens if my browser sends Global Privacy Control?
We treat it as an opt-out and apply the essential-only setting, so Analytics and Advertising stay off.
